Department Of Public Safety Officers Association
Thank you for visiting. We are all about helping Texas State Troopers and their
families, and hope to win your support. Troopers serve to
keep us safe. These are
special people who have taken on awesome responsibilities, often
at extreme risk. It is so like us not to appreciate the heroes of
our society who are always there, until things get tough. Then,
perhaps on a dark and lonely highway, a trooper’s hat
and uniform are comforting. Next time you see a Trooper say, "Thanks
for what you do."

The DPS Officers Association joins with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department of Transportation to encourage drivers to show law enforcement officers and emergency workers they care by moving over or slowing down.
In Texas, in 2009, nine crashes involved an emergency vehicle that was parked for emergency purposes, including law enforcement traffic stops. Although the number is relatively low, each crash can have catastrophic results.
