Association Magazine
Every member of the DPS Officer’s Association is entitled to and will receive
a copy of the Association magazine, published three times a year. The magazine
includes the most recent reports from the Board of Directors, Legislative reports,
Letters to the Editor, DPSOA reports, feature articles, information on current
and future DPSOA events, as well as important forms for event registrations and
applications. The magazine also features the companies and commercial enterprises
throughout Texas that support the DPSOA. The DPSOA magazine keeps the members
informed and up to date on DPSOA news.

Annual Conference
Annually, the DPS Officer’s Association convenes a general
conference for all regular and associate members of the Association.
Held at various locations throughout the state the conference encompasses
two full days of activities, principally to address Association
related business however social events are also included. The annual
conference provides the membership with current information and
an opportunity to become directly involved in the conduct of the
Association. It is at this time that’s matters requiring
Association membership consideration are addressed. After the meetings,
the members have a chance to visit with friends from all over the
state and enjoy two evenings of entertainment. Members, if you
have never participated in the Annual Conference please take advantage
of the next opportunity, which will be announced early on the News
and Events Page.
Death Benefits
The members of DPS Officer’s Association are eligible for
a one time entitlement payment from the Death Benefit Fund. The
Fund will pay the entitlement to the beneficiary of the qualified
member at the time of death. Current active duty and retired members
that are in good standing with the Association are the only individuals
that are eligible for this benefit. Additional information and

District Meetings
DPS Officer’s Association District Representatives will
schedule quarterly meetings in their respective areas. These
districts correspond to the divisions established by the DPS
throughout the state. Currently there are 18 DPSOA districts
with approximately 3500 members. The district meetings offer
opportunities to address DPSOA related business, elect representatives
and other ballot initiatives including but not limited to by-law
revisions, legislative proposals, fund raising and social events.
The meetings are also tools keep members informed and actively
engaged in matters that directly effect them personally and professionally.
Emergency Relief Fund
The members of DPS Officer's Association are not unlike the citizens
of any Texas community and often experience the same hardships
and trials common to everyone. It is at just such times that
this unique DPSOA assistance program reaches out to support its
members. Whether a natural disaster, a personal hardship, or
medical emergency our members are eligible to receive relief
funds. This program is available at the discretion of the Board
of Directors, and provides immediate aid for the discretionary
use of DPSOA members.
New Member Packets
As an introduction to the DPS Officer's Association and an expression of appreciation all new members receive a membership gift packet. The packets vary from year to year, however, they generally consist of the Association's
by-laws, a lapel pin or another suitable item of jewelry, a pen and calendar,
or other special gifts. DPSOA values its members and works hard to maintain
their loyalty and trust.
Member Mortgage Loan Services
The members of the DPS Officers Association are eligible for mortgage banking services from the Fidelity Blue Line Mortgage Company. This company has been providing personal mortgage banking services for State Troopers throughout America for over a decade. Police Olympics and Tournaments
The DPS Officer's Association provides financial support for
participants in the Texas and National Police Olympics. The purpose
of these athletic games is to promote benevolence, sportsmanship,
and friendship among members of the Law Enforcement and Civilian
communities through sports competition. DPSOA has sponsored many
law enforcement athletes both member and non-member, in these
competitive games, either as individuals or teams. It is our
commitment to continue to support the Police Olympics and the
healthy spirit of competition and friendship it engenders.
In addition to the Police Olympics the DPSOA sponsors annual
regional golf tournaments for members. These events provide opportunities
for our members to compete, socialize, and develop lasting friendships
with fellow officers. We make every effort to schedule the tournaments
at different venues and different times throughout the year to
accommodate all of our members.
Rental Vehicles
As part of a growing list of benefits for DPS Officer's
Association members we now offer special rental car discounted
